LAA’s classes have created important sustaining projects, community events and foundations that have become an integral part of the community and touched many lives every year.
A Smartphone application which will be installed at the County 911 District Dispatch Center and will enable citizens that subscribe (at no cost) to be alerted whenever there is a sudden cardiac arrest within 1,000 feet of their location
21st Century Education Foundation
This nonprofit raises funds to be distributed throughout County schools in the form of mini-grants, technology and incentives.
Battle of the Bands
This annual event sells out Maryland Hall every year with proceeds dedicated to music departments at the winning schools throughout the county.
The Cliff R. Roop Cardiac Support and Education Foundation – This foundation literally saves lives with the installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout Anne Arundel County.
Operation Green Thumb
A simple idea with a great impact: recycling programs at two city parks that fund youth scholarships.
LAA grads initiated this peer court to give teens a second chance and an opportunity to learn from their mistakes instead of earning a criminal record.
Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center
Its LAA inspired Mentoring Roundtable project is a component of this premier volunteer connector group in Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis.
